InnovInk – An initiative of SCIT by Shubham Dahale and Subhadra Sahoo

InnovInk provides the students, the IT entrepreneurs and the future leaders a platform to discuss and nurture ideas, enhance perspectives, supercharge risk appetite and unleash the leadership skills. InnovInk awards is an initiative of a group of alumni of SCIT from batch 2002-04 by giving award money 1,25,000/- INR to current students of SCIT for best start-up ideas. The five alumni – Raghavendra Jana, Yogesh Swami, Ankit Vatnakar, Yuvraj Sawant, Rupali Thapar; from SCIT 2002-04 batch came up with this initiative.
Entrepreneurship and Leadership Forum (iTELF)team. It is supervised by Director Dr Dhanya Pramod ma’am. Awards started with its flagship event from 2017-18.
Symbiosis Centre for Information and Technology is known for creating global IT leaders and entrepreneurs. iTELF is an endeavour of SCIT that works as a catalyst for nurturing entrepreneurial talents; it also creates awareness about entrepreneurship and leadership and also provides direction towards entrepreneurship development and management. iTELF is open for all those aspiring to start their venture or aiming to be leaders and change agents in their domains.
In the month of June, students are urged to come up with ideas and for the Innovink competition. Under the pilot project subject, students keep building and updating their B plan, and in the month of July, best ideas will be selected.
Under the guidance of faculty members, these top teams are supposed to create a prototype to understand the functionality and feasibility of the subject. In the first week of August, the selected teams are supposed to present their idea in front of the founders and other external judges. Based upon the various parameters as listed below, winners are judge.
The parameters that the ideas are judge upon are as follows
• The novelty of idea- value and originality of the idea
• Product/service- how impactful and different it is from the existing products
• Operational or technological viability
• Financial requirements
• Plan of Action to execute the proposed idea- marketing strategies, sales strategy, plan of scaling it in the market
• Coordination in the team

Innovlnk aims to foster the entrepreneurship mindset among the students and boost their morale through the seeding money won through the competition.

Innovink is an initiative that opens up the less travelled path and gives them much-needed backing of financial as well as technical guidance for the budding entrepreneurs of the college. Shiv Khera has once rightly said, winners don’t do different things, they do things differently.
