Like a pearl enshrined in an oyster
Shielded from all vile
Hides a face unseen, unknown
Behind the beatific smile
I peeked behind the curtain
To unveil the mystery
To see the hands at work
Behind this artistry
Little did I know
That ignorance is bliss
Too great a price was paid
Fulfilling innocent wish
And yet the smile didn’t waver
From that angelic face
Inspection led realisation
It was another fake
Pestered and persevered
Then gave up on the task
Cause none was allowed to see
